Why the endpoint definition is the whole ballgame here

The trial's headline number is tied to a specific, pre-registered endpoint (PCR-confirmed symptomatic Covid-19 after the second dose). Severe disease, transmission, and asymptomatic infection are different questions with different (and later) evidence. When people argue past each other about vaccines, it's usually because they're quoting different endpoints.
